15.-23.6.: Soundlandschaft Hamburg
Im Juni sind MetroZones, das „Zentrum für städtische Angelegenheiten“ mal wieder zu Gast in der Kaserne. Das deutsch-arabische Trio Shkoon und Katrin Wildner von MetroZones bieten an vier Terminen Workshops zum kreativen Hören im öffentlichen Raum bei dock europe an.

Was klingt im Alltag nah und ist doch unsichtbar?
Vertraute Geräusche, fremde Klänge?
Die Stadt singt, summt, nervt mit ihrem ständigen Klang und Getöse: jeder Raum ist durch
spezifische Soundscapes oder Klangumwelten gekennzeichnet. Geräusche, Stimmen,
Krach, Summen und Klänge formen sich zu alltäglichen Kompositionen, die wir oft
vergessen, die aber unser Verhalten stark beeinflussen. Sound ist ein Verbindungsstück
zwischen dem Körperliche, dem Sozialen und unserer Umgebung. Jede Nachbarschaft hat ihren eigenen Sound, ist ein Resonanzraum mit eigenen
Kompositionen von Soundscapes.
Wir laden Euch ein, aus den Sounds unserer Stadt akustische Interventionen
zu erschaffen, die diese Regeln, Strukturen und Gewohnheiten umwerfen: wir wollen mit
Euch aus unseren Straßen Musik machen.
In dem Workshop erkunden wir Sounds der Stadtteile Altona, Veddel und Wilhelmsburg und nehmen sie auf. Wir machen Soundwalks, und tauschen uns aus über das was wir hören. Wir sammeln Geräusche und Klänge, spielen
uns unsere Soundsammlungen gegenseitig vor, setzen schliesslich die Samples zu
eigenen Musikstücken zusammen, um diese in den öffentlichen Raum während des
TRANSCORNER WALKS zurückzuspielen.

SOUNDSCAPING HAMBURG
What do you hear?
What is the sound of the neighborhood?
What is the rythm of each part of the city?
Which sounds do you miss?
What is the sound of Intimate Strangers?
What sounds in daily life are near but remains invisible?
Familiar noises, strange sounds?
The city sings, sums, annoys with it‘s constant sounds and rumblings: each space is marked by specific soundscapes or noise environment. Sounds, voices, summing, bangs, form daily compositions, which we often forget but still influence our behavior. Sound is an union piece between what is physical, social and our environment. Each neighborhood has its own sounds, is a resonance room with its own compositions and soundscapes.
We invite you to create acoustic interventions from the sounds of our city, which would knock these rules, structures and habits over: we want to create music from our streets.
In the workshop we will explore, document and record sounds of the Veddel, Altona and Wilhelmsburg. We will go for soundwalks and exchange about what we hear. We will collect sounds and noises, we will play our samples for each others, before we use them to create music pieces, that we will then play in the public space during the TRANSCORNER WALK.
